Roof Coating & Roof Restoration

Objectives of Roof Restoration

  1. To rectify any existing roof leakages.

  2. To replace any damaged roof tiles.

  3. To beautify old and worn out roofs.

  4. To restore old roof to its former splendour.

Prior to any works on the roof, we will carry out a pre-work inspection on internal of the premises to ascertain if there are any existing damages.

After ensuring proper safety measures, the roof will be washed down of algae growth, dust accumulation, tree leaves etc with a high pressure water jet.

The roof will then be inspected for leakages, any cracked tiles will be replaced with similar roof tiles where possible, cracked ridge cement bedding will be re-bedded, corroded metal flashing or valley gutters will be replaced with colorbond or aluminium flashing or valley gutters, widely exposed tiles gaps will be sealed with waterproofing membrane reinforced with fibres.

Once the roof leakages are rectified and depending on the types of roof tiles, the roof will then be coated with one coat of acrylic primer or penetrating sealer with an airless spray gun.

After ensuring that the acrylic primer or penetrating sealer are dry, the roof tiles will then be coated with two coats of WAPOL Ceramic Fortified Acrylic (CFA) Roof Coat (made in Australia) with airless spray gun.

WAPOL CFA Roof Coat is a specially formulated roof coating system that is fortified with ceramic beads for enhanced heat reflection, superior UV protection, reduced dirt pickup and better fungus control.

The completed Roof Restoration works will then be inspected and handed over to the premise’s owner.

Asbestos Roof

OBJECTIVES OF ASBESTOS ROOF REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL ARE

  1. Replace asbestos roofs with new metal roofs or tiled roofs.

  2. Remove asbestos roofs to facilitate demolition of buildings.

Prolonged exposure to any type of asbestos has proven to increase the risk of lung cancer, mesothelioma and non-malignant lung and pleural disorders including asbestosis and pleural plaques.

As such, the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and the National Environment Agency (NEA) has instituted strict guidelines under the Workplace Safety and Health Act (WSH) on the removal and disposal of asbestos related materials including asbestos roofs which are commonly found in the older buildings including houses that are built between 1940s and 1980s.

Failure to comply with WSH (Asbestos) Regulations on removal and disposal of any types of asbestos will result in an immediate stop works order from MOM and offending stake holders will also incur a penalty not exceeding $10,000 for the first offence and a fine not exceeding $20,000 or maximum of 6 months imprisonment for the second offence onwards.

As such, engaging a competent asbestos removal contractor in Singapore is imperative for your project, the health of both occupants and workers concerned and also to be in compliance with the authorities.

Over the years, MVM Roofing Pte Ltd has been accepted by the MOM as a competent asbestos contractor and has proven to be a reliable roofing contractor for the removal of asbestos related roofing materials.

For projects where asbestos roofs are to be replaced with new metal or tiled roofs, MVM has the expertise to carry out both the works thereby minimizing the problems of coordinating between two different contractors, one for asbestos removal and another for installing the new roofs.
